Happy New Year!

I miss you guys so much!  I haven't decided what to do moving forward with this blog-- I find myself constantly wanting to share with you guys awesome recipes, work-outs, facts ETC.  But-- here's the kicker-- I got a professional blogging job for SEOwhat.com and, I will be maintaining two blogs for them and I'm not sure if I'll have the time to dedicate myself to this part of the Internet.  Bummer- I know!

I feel very passionate about clean eating and living a healthy lifestyle.  I'm actually in progress of overhauling my entire families diet-- my 5 year old is definitely the most work. Telling a 5 year old no more candy, cupcakes, Ravioli-- as you can imagine, not the easiest thing.  But, it's what is best for her and I'm not going to give in!

For those of you who have emailed me about Fit Friends-- I am not sure I will continue the program.  We had over 150 participants (yay!) and it sounds like you all loved your packages!  Unfortunately, the person assigned to me didn't ever send a package to me!  So all of that work, and I didn't even get to enjoy the program.  It was a big let down!  I hope none of you experienced that disappointment!  I am very sorry if you did!

I did also deactivate my personal Facebook page, therefore the Mama's Facebook page also came down.  A majority of my followers (300 or so) kept up with the blog that way, so I'm not sure how many of you will even see this post!  I do think I'm going to try and come back here periodically-- so I hope you will stop by!

I also wanted to let you guys know that I've gotten into a size 7 jeans!  I haven't been a size 7 since Eva was born!  It's a pretty big deal!

And, to leave you with some motivation on this first Wednesday of 2013--

Hiatus (Until Further Notice)

Some of you may have noticed my serious lack of blogging lately.

Some of that had to do with the visit from my mother, some of it had to do with Eva's birthday & Thanksgiving, some of it had to do with working on my NaNoWriMo novel...

and some of it had to do with me.

I'm not sure the direction I want this blog to head in anymore-- nor am I sure whether or not the energy & time invested in this project might be better used in other places of my life at the moment.

I'm going to take a few weeks to figure that out.

Until then--

Keep being the best versions of yourself-- eat clean, look for healthy alternatives, eat junk food in moderation, incorporate physical activity into your daily life-- love yourself the best you can.

Guest Post : Erica & 3 Fat-Blasting Breakfast Foods!!

Do you guys remember Erica?  She wrote this awesome guest post on an easy- Ab Busting Routine?  Well she's back sharing her three cheap, easy, fat-blasting breakfast foods!
---
If you are like me you are on a strict budget and healthy eating does not always seem achievable. Well,
lucky for you I have found three breakfast foods that are incredibly cheap, easy and have the added
benefit of blasting your fat! Feel free to add your own special touches to these foods with additional
healthy seasonings! Happy and healthy eating!

Oatmeal
Regular unsweetened oatmeal has no sugar and is rich in fiber which keeps you fuller longer and your
blood sugar stable. Add a serving of fruit like strawberries, blueberries, raisins or banana slices for
natural sugar and flavor that will provide you with a delicious breakfast, keeping you full for hours.

Eggs
I cannot stress this enough, eggs are the #1 breakfast food! There are so many benefits to eggs besides
the 6 grams of protein per an egg that they might as well just get an award. Here is why you should be
eating two whole eggs or four egg whites every morning:

-Eggs are a great source of choline. One egg yolk has about 300 micrograms of choline. Choline is an
important nutrient that helps regulate the brain, nervous system, and cardiovascular system.

-Eggs are fantastic for the eyes. Individuals who eat eggs every day lower their risk of developing
cataracts because of the lutein and zeaxanthin found in eggs.

-Contrary to belief, the high amount of cholesterol in eggs does not have a negative effect on your
internal cholesterol if eaten in moderation.

-Want your hair to grow faster and people to comment on how shiny and healthy it is? Go ahead and
eat some eggs! The sulphur content, vitamins and nutrients contained in eggs has been proven to
produce a glorious full head of hair.

Grapefruit
Grapefruit is low in calories (40 calories for a medium grapefruit and 60 for a large grapefruit), has large amounts of water and contains a compound that can help control your insulin. Not to mention it has tons of vitamins and nutrients that your body needs! Since grapefruit is a bit tart, feel free to add a
teaspoon or two of real natural sugar. If you are like me and find it difficult to eat a grapefruit here is
a video how-to so you can get the most flesh out of a grapefruit:

Thank you so much for the post Erica!  What great suggestions, right!?  We looooove Grapefruit in this house!  We often eat it after a large meals because it aids in digestion and metabolism!

One of my favorite ways to eat oats is in a jar of overnight oats.  There are two great recipes over here that I would definitely recommend!

Also, in the morning-- I like to make my "protein power bowl."  I throw in some sliced chicken breast, spinach, cottage cheese, tomatoes, and egg-whites into a bowl and microwave for 4-5 minutes on high-- BOOM!  Delicious protein packed breakfast!

What healthy foods do you love to have for breakfast?!
